S. fighting knife, which for some reason had the original maker markings on the blade ground away. Close inspection of the blade shows that there is still the remains of a number 3 close to the start of the upper edge, which originally would have been the end of a "1943" date. This means that this was originally an example of the scarce 1st pattern of the M3
